Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of Guizhi Fuling Pills on hemodynamics and platelet activation in patients after radiofrequency ablation(RFA) for thyroid nodules.
Methods Using a random number table, ninety patients with thyroid nodules, admitted to the Outpatient Department of Jiangsu Provincial Peoples Hospital from January to December 2024 were divided into an intervention group and a control group, with 45 cases in each. The control group was treated with RFA alone, while the intervention group was treated with Guizhi Fuling Pills combined with RFA. The clinical efficacy, volume and maximum diameter of thyroid nodules, levels of thyroid hormones free thyroxine(FT
4), free triiodothyronine(FT
3), thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), hemodynamic parameters end diastolic velocity(EDV), peak systolic velocity(PSV), resistance index(RI), and platelet activation markers lysosomal-associated membrane protein 3(CD63), P-selectin(CD62P) were compared between the two groups at 4 and 8 weeks after treatment. The incidence of complications was also compared between the two groups.
Results The total effective rate in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group(
P<0.05). At 4 and 8 weeks after treatment, the volume and maximum diameter of thyroid nodules in the intervention group were smaller than those in the control group, and EDV, PSV, RI, CD63, and CD62P in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group(
P<0.05); moreover, all the above indices in the intervention group at 8 weeks after treatment showed greater improvement than those at 4 weeks after treatment(
P<0.05). At 4 and 8 weeks after treatment, the above indices in both groups were improved compared with those before treatment(
P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in FT
4, FT
3, and TSH levels between the two groups before and after treatment(
P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(
P>0.05).
Conclusion Guizhi Fuling Pills, as an adjunctive therapy for RFA in patients with thyroid nodules, can promote nodule absorption, significantly improve postoperative hemodynamic parameters, and inhibit platelet activation, and exert a certain auxiliary regulatory effect.
