Abstract: P57 and Gordonoside F are pregnane saponins isolated from a South African cactus-like Hoodia gordonii with appetite-suppressive activity. This article reviews the advances in research on the chemical synthesis, biological activities and action mechanisms of P57 and Gordonoside F, so as to provide some reference for the development of relevant health products and drugs.
