Abstract:
By summarizing the pharmacological effects of resuscitation-inducing aromatic herbs such as
Moschus, Borneolum Syntheticum, Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, Styrax, Benzoinum and Chinese medicine formulas like cow-bezoar bolus for resurrection, heartprotecting musk pill and storax pill, it has been found that these herbs have an effect on central nervous system diseases such as ischemic stroke, Alzheimer's disease, depression, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.Their mechanisms of protecting the central nervous system are mainly related to the regulation of permeability of the blood-brain barrier, inhibition of inflammatory response, resistance of neurotoxicity caused by Ca
2+ overload, amelioration of oxidative stress damage, regulation of central neurotransmitters and their receptors, and inhibition of neuronal cell apoptosis. This paper attempts to provide some reference for future in-depth research and clinical application of such drugs in the treatment of central nervous system diseases through the integration and summary of the pharmacological effects of these resuscitation-inducing aromatic drugs.
