Abstract:
Microneedle is a new type of transdermal drug delivery technology, which has the advantages of painless and efficient drug delivery, good patient compliance, and convenient self-administration. Compared with other types of microneedles, dissolving microneedles have the advantages of low preparation cost, large drug loading, wide application range, no sharp waste residues, and easy control of drug release. The matrix, preparation methods, quality evaluation of dissolving microneedles and their applications in drug delivery, immunization and other fields are reviewed, the existing problems in the development of dissolving microneedles are discussed, with a prospect of their future research directions, so as to provide reference for their further development and application.
