Abstract:
The“Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (2023 Edition)”is China’s first standardized diagnostic and therapeutic protocol for recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) jointly developed by three authoritative medical societies. Based on principles of evidence-based medicine, this guideline innovatively adopts a dual-track evaluation system combining the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation system with evidence from theoretical inheritance. It systematically elaborates on the complex etiology of RSA, standardized diagnostic processes, and stage-specific integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment plans. The guideline emphasizes a combined approach of“preventing disease before disease onset”prior to pregnancy and“preventing disease progression after onset”following conception. It provides detailed recommendations for specific integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine interventions targeting different syndromes and etiologies, and specifies the evidence levels and strengths of recommendation for each intervention. The promotion and implementation of this guideline will significantly improve the standardization level of RSA diagnosis and treatment in China. By leveraging the complementary strengths of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the diagnostic and therapeutic model, it provides a scientific, comprehensive, and practical reference for clinical practice.
