新型冠状病毒的演化和新冠病毒疫苗的免疫保护研究进展

Evolution of SARS-CoV-2 Virus and Protective Efficiency of COVID-19 Vaccines

  • 摘要: 严重急性呼吸综合征冠状病毒-2(SARS-CoV-2,简称新冠病毒)作为基因最长的单链RNA病毒,既具有RNA病毒易变异的特点,又进化出了一定的基因纠错能力,很好地平衡了基因变异和稳定性的关系。新冠病毒的高度易变区集中在病毒表面的刺突蛋白,其变异增加了病毒进入细胞和逃脱免疫的能力,从而造成持续的全球流行。接种新冠病毒疫苗可有效降低病毒传播率、致病率和死亡率。越来越多的研究和真实世界的数据表明,接种新冠病毒疫苗和自然感染后产生的免疫保护作用下降较快,加之新的变异株地不断出现,控制新冠病毒流行仍充满挑战。综述新冠病毒的变异特点、疫苗预防效果,并对2019冠状病毒病(COVID-19)疫情的防控前景进行展望。

     

    Abstract: As the single-stranded RNA virus with the longest gene, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)inherits the ability of mutation, while evolving a unique proof-reading capacity to keep stability of its long genome during replication. Mutations frequently occur in spike protein to enable cell entry and immune escape, which result in emergence of more adaptable variants to maintain its transmission. Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 can effectively reduce infection, transmission, hospitalization and death. However, a growing number of studies and real-world data have shown that the immune protection induced by vaccination and natural infection wanes rapidly. Coupled with the emergence of immune-escape viral strains, control of COVID-19 epidemic is still a challenge. Here the dynamics of SARS-Cov-2 viral mutation and effectiveness of vaccination are reviewed, with a prospect of the prevention and control of epidemic of SARS-CoV-2.
