Effect of Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow Combined with Modified Yijing Decoction on Ovarian Function and Sex Hormones in Patients with Diminished Ovarian Reserve

Objective To investigate the effect of Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow combined with Modified Yijing Decoction on ovarian function and sex hormone levels in patients with diminished ovarian reserve(DOR). Methods A total of 80 DOR patients admitted to Shenzhen Bao'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Group from September 2021 to February 2023 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into a control group(n= 40, receiving conventional Western medicine treatment) and an intervention group(n= 40, receiving Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow combined with Modified Yijing Decoction in addition to conventional Western medicine treatment) using a random number table. The symptoms of liver depression and kidney deficiency, serum sex hormone levels, and ovarian function were compared between the two groups. Results After one and three menstrual cycles of treatment, the intervention group showed significantly lower scores for liver depression and kidney deficiency symptoms, and lower the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) and luteinizing hormone(LH) than the control group, with significantly higher levels of estradiol(E2) and anti-Mullerian hormone(AMH), larger ovarian volume and a greater number of antral follicles(P<0.05). Both groups showed improvement compared to baseline(P<0.05). Conclusion Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow combined with Modified Yijing Decoction in DOR patients can improve ovarian function and sex hormone levels, and alleviate symptoms of liver depression and kidney deficiency.
