Advances in the Research on Lipid Metabolism and Lipid-lowering Drugs

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease remains to be one of the diseases with the highest rates of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Dysfunctional lipid metabolism is a significant independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. In recent years, many innovative lipid-lowering drugs have appeared, and new advances have been made in the basic research on lipid metabolism. This article reviews the latest research progress of lipid-lowering drugs and related drug targets with an aim at providing new reference for the treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
