Role of Fibroblast Growth Factors in Murine Pancreas Development of Mouse

  • Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) are a family closely associated with the development of pancreas. During the development of mouse pancreas, FGFs and pancreatic transcription factors coordinately regulate the proliferation and differentiation of progenitor cells, which provides significant guidance for the direction of differentiation. They also play a certain role in the morphological evolution and functional maturation of acini, ducts and islets. Among them, FGF21 mainly regulates the functional maturation of pancreatic islets; FGF2, FGF4, FGF7 and FGF10 play a major role in the early stage of pancreatic development, regulating the formation of pancreatic lineage. This paper reviews the interaction between pancreatic development and FGFs and its research progress, aiming to provide reference for the research on pancreas-related diseases.
