Progress of Research on Diterpenoids from Scoparia dulcis L.

Scoparia dulcis L. is an important traditional medicine used worldwide to treat many diseases. Previous investigation on chemical constituents of Scoparia dulcis L. revealed that the diterpenoids in the plant are unique in structure, with Labdane and Scopadulane diterpenoids being the main components, which have a variety of biological activities such as anti-diabetes, anti-virus and anti-malaria..The discovery, synthesis and pharmacological activities of diterpenoids in Scoparia dulcis L. were reviewed in this article, so as to provide reference for further utilization of Scoparia dulcis L.
