Abstract
Glucuronidation mediated by UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) is an important pathway for the metabolism and elimination of numerous endobiotics and xenobiotics. Phenolics have attracted intensive attention and investigations due to its diverse pharmacological activities, whose extensive glucuronidation usually results in poor oral bioavailability and insufficient efficacy. This paper reviewed the advances in metabolism of phenolic compounds by UGTs and the mediated drug-drug interactions.
